Steve Camkin
Steve Camkin is a senior Organizational Development consultant whose global work experience spans corporate, government, not for profit, and military sectors in Australia, New Zealand, and the US. He has hired, trained, and fired staff while building virtual teams and managing projects across multiple continents.
Steve has worked inside multi-national technology firms, and as an external consultant while partnering with organizations such as AON Consulting, the Center for Creative Leadership, and The Leadership Challenge.
Steve’s areas of focus include employee engagement, systems thinking, management and leadership assessment,
development, and coaching, change, team development, facilitation, spirit-at-work, and organizational alignment and transformation.
Steve has led numerous teams on adventure expeditions of up to 42 days in length, climbed to almost 23,000 feet in Argentina, and once rode a mountain bike 550 miles, solo, down the Yukon River in winter. He is currently planning a traverse of Mt Everest from Tibet to Nepal. Steve spent 7 years as an instructor with Outward Bound in Australia and the USA teaching team dynamics, survival, caving, canyoning, climbing, whitewater rafting and other outdoors skills to groups as diverse as Vietnam Vets, Visually Impaired, Intellectually Handicapped, and a diverse range of corporations.
One of the best weekends he ever spent snow skiing was in Baja, Mexico but Steve’s adventure travels have also taken him to Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Fiji, French Polynesia, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Canada, and New Zealand.
Steve’s academic qualifications include a recent Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems Design, a Masters in Organizational Development and a Graduate Diploma in Education. In 2008 he published a dissertation study examining predictors of Employee Engagement. He is currently working on a year-long coaching certification.
