Shane is without doubt one of the best facilitators I have ever worked with. The program we’ve developed has embraced every employee across the organization in California and Taiwan, allowing us to build a framework or blueprint for our longer term success.

We Do It

We believe in living the principles we talk about. Every member of our team seeks out challenging experiences that help them learn and grow.

This page is dedicated to sharing some of these experiences with you, in the hope that you will gain inspiration and take action in your own way.

Shane Toohey – June 2008 Attempt to Ski the Grand Teton, Wyoming USA

Shane's attempt to ski the Grand TetonThe Grand Teton is one of the most well known climbs in the United States. Its' snow and ice capped peak rises 7000 feet above the plains of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Skiing from the summit is a significant challenge.

In January of 2008 Shane set the goal of attempting to ski the Grand, giving himself four months to prepare. To help him get fit enough to ascend 7000 feet / 2100 metres in one day Shane hired a personal trainer for the first time in his life and spent many weekends high in the Lake Tahoe backcountry.

The training worked and on June 3rd Shane and his guide Nat Patridge were camped at 11500 feet on the col between the Grand and Middle Tetons. Strong winds started blowing at 6 PM and by 11.30 PM our tent was completely destroyed. Our summit bid was cancelled.

To make the most of the situation the pair made a great descent off the flank of the Middle Teton, a route that was still quite long and steep. The challenge will continue next season.

Peak Teams "What Matters Conference" – March 2008 South Africa

Peak Team in Africa

We wanted to create a rich shared experience that would help us strengthen our own team, so we organized our first Peak Teams Global Conference in March 08.

We spent a few days doing planning and strategy in Johannesburg and then had a wonderful week on safari in a malaria free game reserve called Welgevonden. As part of our commitment to living our principles, we also made a start to a Peak Teams wilderness fund. More info on this coming soon.
